Besides physical education, doing exercises and all, we were allowed to sign up for private sports like volleyball, basketball etc. My father paid extra for all of us to make sure we get enough of sports and recreation, so we had access to school supplies of balls and I remember even lying to my parents to stay back after school and practice with friends. Did you want to pursue sports and if yes, were you supported? I knew I was good, my family knew it too but getting into a national team would not have been easy. I did get a lot of time to play and practice but I was never encouraged to take it up as a career. But, Jordan had a National Football Team, why did you not try out? Yes, before I was born the team was good; I have heard my father say so. But then they never qualified for any league cups for the next 3 or 4 decades. So, no one really took the team seriously. However, after this low period Jordan faced an â€Å"oil-boom† and the country progressed rapidly. Jordan witnessed rapid growth in a number of sectors both private and public. Everything seemed to get better. During this time, Wameed was in his teens and he was really athletic. He would often accompany his father to the Jordan Homenetnum sporting club. Most of the members were Jordanians while some were Armenian. Wameed and his brothers often played at the club and Wameed was particularly noticed because of his athletic built and good play. Eventually he was absorbed into the club’s soccer team. Wameed played a number of tournaments and represented the team a number of times. His family was really proud of him, especially his father. Wameed recalls how much he loved football. At first he would listen to the radios about soccer leagues around the world, and he would jump up every time a goal was made. At first he was not very sure of the teams and did not support either, soon he learnt about different teams and picked out his favorite ones. However, very soon when things returned to normal his family bought a television. Wameed would spend a lot of time watching sports, no matter he understood them or not. Many of the sports were new to him, since the official rules of games such tennis, badminton etc was not known to him, yet he enjoyed each and every single second of watching. He, also remembers, how he would often sneak in his Palestinian friends, who had never seen a television in their life and watched sports with them. Wameed was specially hooked to the television when he saw soccer matches in the television. He carefully watched each and every move of the players and tried to copy them. Having trust in the team can have many benefits such as improving communication, better performance and less conflict among the members. Many times in groups we see implicit trust which is when we trust someone for little or no reason at all based on short interactions that we may have had. (Thompson, p. 95) When we have extremely high levels of trust in a group, we can tend to see the level of performance go down. We can see the performance of a team improve when the project manager and the team members are all monitoring each other’s activities or keeping themselves aware of what is going on in all different areas of the team. Monitoring the team is not necessarily an indicator in a lack of trust, but merely an attempt to assess the project and the progress of the team. It is important to use discretion when choosing when and how much to monitor the team activity because too much monitoring can affect the performance of the team.   Pattern, Language, and Shape of   "Easter Wings"   Ã‚   George Herbert, the seventeenth century poet and author, lived and wrote at the dawn of an age of reason, when the English people were students of both the sciences, such as chemistry and physics, and of religion. This was a time when "Clergymen were authorities on all matters, bishops designed flying boats, lawyers knew the fine points of theology, [and] physicians wrote exquisite lyrics and impassioned prose" (Witherspoon 298). In such a time, a literary work would quickly be forgotten if it could not inspire interest. Thus it is, perhaps, that Herbert wrote some of his most strongly religious poems, such as "Easter Wings" and "The Altar," with such an eye-catching and unique style of construction. In "Easter Wings," Herbert uses a highly uncommon form, both in appearance and mechanics, to draw attention to a simple and otherwise familiar religious subject. The very pattern, language, and shape all serve to emphasis the common content of the poem. "Easter Wings" is, in essence, a poem in the style of simple confessional prayer: it first admits the faults of man, and then exhorts God to allow the confessor redemption and the chance to become uplifted again. The pattern Herbert uses, and repeats in each stanza, reflects this progression of the prayer. Each stanza is divided into two parts of equal length, one for the admission, the next for the exhortation. For each of the lines, as the plight of man is described, the length of that line is decreased, until the turning of the stanza, which comes at the midpoint of the pattern. Then, as the poem extols the uplifting power of God and the effects of joining with Him, the lines increase in length again, returning to their i... ...ords. The content of the poem is held in its very shape. In order to make interesting a simple devotional poem on a common theme, George Herbert successfully used many creative and innovative devices in "Easter Wings" in such a way that the form of the poem amplifies its content. Through repetitive and representative patterning, high and lyrical language, and a most uncommon shaping of each verse, he managed to create a poem which not only stood out in the transitional seventeenth century, but which also remains wholly notable and instantly intriguing even today. Bees sip the nectar of the shrubs and bushes of the wild flowering plants, vines and trees. January to May is the honey season, flowers bloom and honey flows. A 50 hives or colonies can make 30 to 50 kilograms of honey in 3 weeks. The 80% is being made into wine and the remaining is honey. According to Macababbad, the production is down because of climate change. The flowering season is not distinctive because the bees are confused. At this time, kakawati trees should be blooming but they are not. Honey is not produced after heavy rains. When you are into bee farming, the cost of a queen bee is $300 to $500. A single colony, with four frames to house 3,000 bees, costs about P6,200. Continuous labor and maintenance are the added operating costs. According to Virgilio Badajos, a staff beekeeper who was trained in Australia, bee mortality rate must be monitored. Migratory birds can eat up to 500 bees a day. He started the bee farming as a hobby at the University of the Philippines Los Banos. All we wanted was to have our own home-made honey for home use, he said. He had 4 colonies in his farm which expanded in Batangas, Lipa, Tanauan and Cavite. He harvested 100 kilograms of honey produced at Dielle's Apiary and Meadery Enterprises. With the increase in demand Macababbad seek the technology assistance from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). And the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SET UP) provided him P300,000 to purchase new stainless steel tank. This helped him increased from 1,000 bottles a year to 2,000 bottles per month. Other products were added: mango, bignay and duhat wines, the label designs and packaging were provided by DOST. Sales raised to 300 percent and on-line orders also increased. According to Dr. Teresita C. Fortuna, DOST’s Regional Director for Metro Manila, the bee colony is one of the more successful technology intervention of the DOST National Capital Region (NCR). In 2009, P8.9 million support was provided by DOST-NCR for technology acquisition to 11 microenterprises. This includes consultancies, trainings and workshops conducted in 596 firms. In Twinville Subdivision in Marikina, homeowners association uses hydroponics  or growing plants without soil. The DOST Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD) provided the Hydroponic Technology. The Enriched Potting Preparation technology involves nutrient-rich compost soil extract and a specialized watering and aeration-efficient container made from used plastic bottles. Senior citizens of the Twinville Homeowner’s Association participated by planting the first crop of vegetables for home consumption. The harvested crop is sold in the city government and in nearby supermarkets. Marikina and Muntinlupa are the recipients of a bioreactor technology which converts the wastes from wet markets into organic fertilizer. While in Quezon City and Taguig, DOST NCR and PCARRD provided technical assistance and training to city agriculture technologies like edible landscaping, hydroponics and enriched potting preparation and composting.
